Frequently Asked Questions About Ridge Top Exteriors
Is there a warranty for the work you do?
Absolutely! In fact we offer multiple warranties—such as a 7 year Craftsmanship Warranty, a GAF Lifetime Performance Guarantee, a Weather Stopper System Plus or Golden Pledge Warranty, a Mastic Double-Lifetime Transferable Warranty, a Good Housekeeping Warranty—and more! Please ask us about all our warranty offers; we’d be happy to tell you all about them!
How do I know when it’s time to get a new roof?
Most roofs last between 20 and 25 years. Proper ventilation, and whether your current roof was installed over another layer can affect how soon you need a new roof as well. Missing shingles, or shingles that are curling or buckling, are signs that it may be time for a new roof. Shingle granules in your gutters are a warning sign, as roofs tend to lose more granules near the end of their life. Valleys are important too; snow and rain flow through them and into your gutters, and if they’re not working properly you could end up with roof leaks and water damage. Your chimney flashing could be another problem area that can lead to leaks. Moisture in your insulation, a bouncy or spongy feeling when you walk on your roof, or daylight coming through the roof boards could mean it’s time for a new roof. If you’re not sure whether you need roof repairs or it’s time for a new roof, don’t worry: We have worked on thousands of roofs before, and we’ll gladly do a free inspection!
Will new windows really lower my energy bills?
New windows could lower your energy bills by 15% a year, every year—and maybe even more if you choose Energy Star qualified windows. The truth is that new windows for your home eventually pay for themselves—and they also increase the value of your home. However, not every home needs new windows. There are tell-tale signs that it may be time to replace your home’s windows, and we would be glad to do a no-obligation free inspection, as well as explain the benefits that different types of replacement windows have. Just give us a call!
Does my siding need repairs?
Your home’s siding is designed to protect it from the hot sun, the bitter cold, wind, moisture—and it falls victim to the very things it’s designed to protect you from. Visible rot, crumble, cracks, gaps or mold mean that your siding needs attention. If there are drafts near your walls, windows or electrical outlets, or if your energy bills are getting increasingly higher, it may be time to inspect your siding even if it has no visible damage. Sometimes damage to your siding can be repaired, and sometimes it’s time to replace it. There are many great options, and some are better than others depending on where you live and what “look” you prefer. We can help you determine whether your siding needs a minor repair or an overhaul—and help you explore different options. Our estimate is free, so you have nothing to lose and a whole lot to gain by giving is a call today!
Another roofing company didn’t even mention half the stuff you brought up—what’s the catch?
Unfortunately roofing companies grow like mushrooms, rack up a ton of Better Business Bureau complaints, and vanish just as fast. They won’t tell you about important things like ice damming or roof ventilation, and give you really cheap quotes for work that’s just that—cheap. They cut corners that save you pennies on the dollar but will cost you a fortune down the road (for example, by installing a new roof over the previous layer or by not bothering with insulation when they replace your siding). We’ve been in business for many years, have a stellar track record with the Better Business Bureau, and many awards for excellence and customer satisfaction. We’ll tell you what you need to know to make the right decision, whether you choose to work with us or not. Our integrity is why we’re a thriving, growing business. Give us a call, ask us for referrals of satisfied customers in your area, and you’ll find out first-hand!
